Product Information
From the same writing team of our current top-selling musical Little Stars– here is another fun 90 minute musical, perfect for junior and intermediate students, with wonderful character roles and great chorus work for girls and boys alike.
The story opens with Ricki, reminiscing about her first day with the paparazzi, and the opening song has all the photographers getting ready to snap a celebrity as they sing It’s All About the Shot.
Another key group in this musical are the celebrities. Students enjoy the challenge of playing rich and famous people, and it’s a great opportunity for the wardrobe masters to go to town. Ricki manages to get a shot of a celebrity, and whisks it off to Infamous Magazine. Most melodramatic of them all is Sharon, editor of the magazine, who ruthlessly tells Ricki she will never make it in the business.
When Erikka Strudel, and her poodle, are caught on camera by Rikki, she suddenly has something valuable to sell. There is an important role for a school choir, representing the good and evil sides of Rikki’s conscience. And Infamous Magazine decides to release a special version of the magazine, to be known as the Strudel Issue.
Rikki becomes famous, and soon is the best-known photographer in the land. Everyone wants their photo taken by Ricki.
But here’s where the story gets interesting… With the power that comes with being rich and famous herself, Ricki is also tempted to go one step too far in her quest to take the ultimate celebrity shot. But at her lowest moment, the good angel of her conscience consoles her and helps to guide her in the right direction again.
Of course, Ricki recovers her poise and established the School for Responsible Photojournalism, and all ends well with a rousing final song that has everyone on stage for a final photo.
Snap! has a large cast, but with a manageable balance between principals and extras.
