Production Fees (AU, NZ) |
This BA pack features three songs – ‘Harem Rock, Harem Roll’, ‘Desert Moon’ and ‘Finale’ from the hit Maverick Musical ‘Sheik, rattle ‘n’ Roll’.
Harem Rock, Harem Roll is a light swing number with repeated call-and-response patterns. Desert Moon is a more lyrical, soft-rock ballad featuring constantly changing textures including solo, call-and-response and melody and counter melody. Finale
is an amalgam of two songs, totally contrasting in style. The first has a bright Latin, Peter Allen feel, with a busy syncopated drum accompaniment, while the second is jazzy with swung quavers.

PACK CONTENTS
Three Complete Arrangements
Each pack contains not one but three complete arrangements with a common theme of historical style, musical setting or holiday setting. This makes the By Arrangement packs ideal for concert programming or as standalone classroom material.
Printed Conductor’s Score
The conductor’s scores are designed to put the musical information you need at your fingertips while keeping pages to a readable size. Scores feature the four main melody lines (see below) and the full rhythm section parts. Important performance notes (for both conductor and musicians) are included as well as useful links that put the piece in its musical context.<br
Multiple Instrument Parts
Let’s face it: it would be surprising to find two school bands in Australia with exactly the same number of musicians and instrument line-up! So instead of guessing at what your requirements are, you can make the call. We’ve provided you with one each of the parts; feel free to photocopy what you need for your school band.
All arrangements are scored for a `front line’ group of four instruments of different registers (roughly corresponding to Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass) and a rhythm section comprising guitar, piano, bass and drum kit.
Parts for the front-line instruments, incorporating the relevant transpositions and clefs, can be played by the following instruments:
Part I: ‘soprano’ – flute, oboe, violin, clarinet, trumpet or alto sax
Part II: ‘alto’ – oboe, violin, clarinet, trumpet or alto sax
Part III: ‘tenor’ – bassoon, trombone, cello, viola, clarinet, baritone B.C., bass clarinet, alto sax, tenor sax or French horn
Part IV: ‘bass’ – bassoon, trombone, cello, bass clarinet, baritone sax, clarinet or baritone B.C.
MIDI files
Each pack includes a multimedia CD with the MIDI files for the piece. Most computers will play back MIDI files and these ‘backing tracks’ can be slowed down for rehearsal purposes. Used as accompaniments, just deselect the tracks you don’t need and play the rest. Voila; instant drummer / bass player / other missing instrument
Audio Recordings
Each arrangement has been recording directly from the original musical files and is playable in a standard CD player. This is a great way to show the band ‘how the song goes’; essential when learning new pieces.
PDFs of All Files
Master copies of conductor scores and instrument parts have a nasty habit of disappearing. For your convenience (and sanity) each By Arrangement pack comes with Adobe Acrobat PDFs of all the conductor’s scores and all the instrumental parts. What a great way to start building your own computer based music filing system!
The purchase of a single script infers no Copying or Performance rights. (Scripts and music can’t be copied for readings, auditions or rehearsals without purchasing the Copying Fee.) The fee gives you the right to copy the script, musical scores and CD’s that you have purchased as many times as you need for these occasions.
To stage a performance, you will require a License from Maverick Musicals, and agree to the License conditions before you can perform your show. Copying Fees (for rehearsal materials) and a Performance License must be obtained before your production can take place.
Our streamlined system means that a Performance License Application is activated when you order the Basic or Delux Package, or order the Copying Fee from the selection of options.
(Please note that it is a breach of Copyright to copy scripts and music, or to perform musicals or plays without the Publisher’s permission.)
