Copyright Information
The purchase of a single script infers no Copying or Performance rights. (Scripts and music can’t be copied for readings, auditions or rehearsals without purchasing the Copying Fee.) The fee gives you the right to copy the script and musical scores that you have purchased as many times as you need for these performances.
To stage a performance, you must announce your performance dates to Maverick Musicals and state whether you are or are not charging for tickets. This will dictate what kind of royalty fee you will be invoiced for.
Copying Fees (for rehearsal materials) and a Performance License must be obtained before your production can take place. Our streamlined system means that a Performance License Application is activated when you order the Basic or Deluxe Package. (Please note that it is a breach of Copyright to copy scripts and music, or to perform musicals or plays without the Publisher’s permission.)

Here is the new generation Dimboola, a laugh-out-loud comedy that is bound to be performed by every rural drama group in our wide, brown land.
Garimba is a small Queensland county town in big economic trouble. Its cattle and crop growers have been battered for years by one drought after another, so, believing that tourism can be their salvation, the Business Attraction Group of Garimba decides to stage a ‘grabber’ event. In a desperate effort to bring money and recognition to their town, BAGG throw around a few ideas that could reel in the tourists but unfortunately, all the world events seem to be happening elsewhere. All except one!
A quirky, laconic, so-o Australian comedy, this play was the inaugural winner of the National Dogwood Playwrights Initiative and it is easy to see why it romped in first. The acutely observed characters are people that everyone who has ever served on any committee will recognise… the sharp dialogue, single and modern day setting will surely appeal to every drama committees budget too.
This play tackling two key themes; that of dying towns taking their precarious future into their own hands whilst facing the unique challenges facing farmers in the 21st century.

BBAC productions (in central Victoria) staged this hilarious comedy to five different country communities. It was so much fun doing it and the audience had a blast!! A very clever script that was so funny.

“Bruce and I had the pleasure of being at the Awards night in Miles when Mr Hugh O’Brien was declared the winner of the Dogwood Playwrights Initiative with his marvellous script entitled The World Bra Unclipping Championships at Garimba (yes, you read correctly) and we were also lucky enough to see his play come to life as a stage production in a wonderful dinner theatre setting. It was outstanding – an absolute belly laugh!”
