The purchase of a single script infers no Copying or Performance rights. (Scripts and music can’t be copied for readings, auditions or rehearsals without purchasing the Copying Fee.) The fee gives you the right to copy the script, musical scores and CD’s that you have purchased as many times as you need for these occasions.

To stage a performance, you will require a License from Maverick Musicals, and agree to the License conditions before you can perform your show.  Copying Fees (for rehearsal materials) and a Performance License must be obtained before your production can take place.

We had the pleasure of staging Hugh O’Brien’s play The Deep Well of Loyalty at our Festival of One Act Plays in 2014. This script was a prize winner in our National play writing competition and it was easy to see why. The play dealt with the effects of change on a typical Australian farming family, in this case the coal seam gas controversy, and did it in a fascinating and engaging way. The characters were totally real and the family tensions arising from questions of loyalty and love were beautifully portrayed with both drama and sharp wit. Very soon after the play starts, the audience was fully engaged and barracking for the embattled characters.

This play overwhelmingly won the audience choice award at the Festival. This will have been due not only to its relevance to what is actually happening on the land now, but also the entertaining way that it portrays a family responding to the challenges thrown at them by the world and learning where their true loyalties lie.
