Oh Rats! is a musical adaptation of Robert Browning’s much-loved poem, ‘The Pied Piper of Hamelin’. It is through-composed (no spoken words) and is similar in format to Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in that it makes use of many different musical styles; in this case from rapping to the Charleston! Although essentially an exciting and light-hearted show, it nevertheless does contain reflective and poignant moments, and its message of morality and hope is clear.

It was first produced with a cast of 254 and is ideal for companies wanting to incorporate large numbers in the chorus making this show a firm favourite with schools and amateur groups. It’s fun, funny and fast-moving.

The show can be staged with any number of singers, dancers or actors, either as a full theatrical extravaganza or alternatively as a concert. Imposed limitations have deliberately been kept to a minimum; quite simply – it will work in any setting.
