Simon Denver
Simon Denver is a professional writer and theatre director. He is currently the artistic director and writer-in residence for the Suncoast Repertory Theatre Inc that is based on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia (www.srt.org.au).
He has had countless Plays, Musicals and Cabaret scripts performed and published. He has lectured and given workshops in schools and colleges, has written for radio and TV, worked with professional and community groups. As a performer he has notched up over 3000 live shows encompassing Shakespeare to Theatre Restaurant and from Theatre-in-Education to Fusion.
He needs no introduction to many students and schools in Australia. His musical “Man of Steel” has become the most performed play / musical in Australia’s & New Zealand’s history. In fact, according to University studies, he has five out of the top ten performed plays / musicals ever in Australia.
He is a multi award winning director, actor and writer for his dramatic, comedy, musical and fusion works. In 2013 Simon was one of the inaugural inductees for the Queensland Arts “Wall of Fame” for his contribution to Theatre.
Over the last ten years Simon has written and or directed many shows. These include. “Don’s Party”, “Macbeth”, “God of Carnage”, “Strange Attractor”, “Popcorn”, “That Scottish Play”, “So Where is it?”, “Rock in the Water” and “Daisy Pulls it Off”.
