Frank Wilkie
Writer and performer Frank Wilkie is a regular in the competitive south-east Queensland drama festival circuit and has won awards for acting and playwriting. The University of Queensland graduate has performed successive and diverse roles for numerous Sunshine Coast theatre companies and in 2009 appeared for the first time at the Adelaide Fringe Festival. Frank currently works as a teacher at the Noosa Steiner School and was formerly a newspaper and publishing group editor, Local Government councillor in the former Noosa Shire and a journalist. His first full-length play Newsroom enjoyed a sell out premiere season in Noosa in 2008. Another of his one-act plays Good Grief, a black comedy about a needy therapist, won several awards on the 2009 South-East Queensland drama festival circuit and was performed with Tudo ou Nada at the 2010 Noosa Longweekend and at Nambour’s Lind Lane theatre. He lives at Peregian Beach with his wife and daughter.
